Famagusta Old Town & Varosha View Tour

Step into centuries of history on a day that combines the medieval walled city of Famagusta with one of the most striking coastlines in Cyprus. Part 1: Famagusta Old Town. The first part of the tour goes into the 15th-century walled city of Famagusta, where you have about two hours to explore at your own pace. See the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque (formerly St Nicholas Cathedral), where Venetian elegance meets Ottoman history, the ancient city walls, bastions and gates, and the Gothic ruins scattered through the old streets. Stop for local food and coffee, or browse the unique shops in their historic settings. Part 2: Palm Beach and the Varosha view. The second part of the tour takes you to Palm Beach, a sandy beach on a blue bay lined with the empty hotels of Varosha. Relax with a drink or a snack from the beach bar, sunbathe and swim beside a resort frozen in time. Please note that this tour does not go inside Varosha: you see it from the beach. If you would like to walk inside Varosha, choose our Varosha Ghost Town tour instead. Every guest receives a free exclusive map with the historical sites of Famagusta, information about its buildings, and the shops, restaurants and bars that offer discounts to tour guests. Passports are required. This tour can only accept guests holding a passport or national ID card from one of the 27 EU countries, the UK, Norway, Switzerland or Iceland.
