How to Get Around Cyprus: Airport Transfers Made Easy
Cyprus has two main international airports, intercity coach links, urban and regional buses, taxis and car hire. The right choice depends on your arrival airport, destination, travel time, group size, luggage and how much flexibility you need.
Start with your exact route
For an airport journey, identify both the airport and final town before comparing options. Larnaca and Paphos airports have different direct links, and some cross-island journeys require a connection.
Public buses
Public transport can be an economical choice when the route and timetable fit your flight. Airport buses usually connect to a city or regional bus station; onward travel may require another service. Always check the current operator timetable for both your arrival and return journeys before relying on a connection.
- Allow time for baggage collection and the walk to the stop.
- Check the final service of the day as well as the service after your scheduled landing.
- Plan each direction separately; a workable outbound connection does not guarantee a workable return.
- Keep an alternative in mind for delays or missed connections.

Airport shuttles and intercity coaches
Scheduled shuttles can reduce the number of changes between an airport and a major city. They may run less frequently than urban buses, so compare the current timetable with your flight rather than assuming a regular interval.
Taxis and pre-arranged transfers
A taxi or booked transfer offers a direct journey and can be practical for late arrivals, families, larger groups or travellers with substantial luggage. Confirm the pickup point, destination, vehicle capacity and total price before travel.
Car hire
Hiring a car gives the most flexibility for beaches, villages and trailheads outside the main bus network. Cyprus drives on the left. Review the rental company’s licence, age, insurance, fuel and deposit terms before booking, and choose a vehicle suited to the roads you plan to use.
